Experiential In-Person

Track 1 is for anyone who would like to personally experience BBTRS®—by physically attending a workshop—but is not necessarily interested in providing professional services to others. (You might decide to “upgrade” later, which is possible!)

There are many benefits to a comprehensive, in-person workshop—as opposed to an online experience, or even receiving individual sessions from a practitioner. The most profound benefit is the unparalleled synergy that comes from participating in a sustained group experience. By immersing for a week on location, you also experience the entire scope of the work—in order, as it applies to each section of the body.

This includes the element of directed, hands-on touch and other personalized experiences that come with being in physical proximity to other students and trainers. There simply is no substitute for learning BBTRS® with a group. With this background, you then can continue with individual sessions or with self-practice—along with attending other workshop(s) in the future. Also, within a specified time frame, if you change your mind and apply for certification, this workshop can count toward a Professional Practitioner training series.

The Experiential In-Person Training Track includes a 8- or 11-day In-Person Training which are held throughout the year at beautiful locations across the world. Tuition for this track varies based on In-Person Training Location and Duration and is not inclusive of Accommodations or Transportation.

Within a predetermined timeframe after starting training, Personal Growth & Healing students can switch Tracks, shifting to Professional Certification Training if looking to become a Practitioner who can treat others.

Webinar : Anatomy & Physiology of Breathwork

This 2-part webinar is an overview of basic anatomy and physiology that every breathwork practitioner should know in order to work safely and effectively with clients; it’s also beneficial for massage therapists, yoga teachers, and others in the healing professions. Specific to BBTRS®, the course highlights the musculature involved in assisting breathing, and how these structures relate to one another. CE credits through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) are available.

• Overview of different types of trauma. • Anatomy & physiology of the pulmonary system

• Hypoventilation and hyperventilation, and how these are important when in a breathwork context

• Muscular, emotional, and energetic anatomy of the 7 “Belts of Tension”

• Autonomic nervous system from a trauma perspective

• Importance of the psoas muscle (a hip flexor) and its relationship to trauma • The fascia network

• Safety: How to determine if a client should not participate in BBTRS at all (e.g., contraindications such as heart conditions or mental illnesses)

• Safety: How to modify BBTRS to allow people with certain conditions to participate (e.g., minimizing movement or stimulation of nervous system)”

A PDF copy of the slides used in the webinar are included in your download. For those seeking NCBTMB credits, also included in the download is a short quiz that can be submitted via email. (The quiz is not intended for BBTRS® students.)

In - Person Workshop

In-person workshops provide the most enriching experiences BBTRS® has to offer. Participants work many hours per day, share opening meditations, learn group exercises and hands-on techniques, personally experience BBTRS® sessions, benefit from in-the-moment group sharing, and enjoy immediate proximity to faculty and other students.

In these workshops, students unpack the entire scope of the modality, working with felt sense, resourcing and pendulation, self-bodywork, unwinding spinal movements, grounding—and, importantly, releasing various layers of physical tension, from periphery to the core. The work comes together in an organic way that is enriched by the group energy and is conducive to personal growth. There is no substitute for this collective space, or the quality of learning that the group develops together over the course of one week—it’s an immersive experience that can change your life.

Students in the Experiential In-Person Track can attend any In-Person workshop module of their choice, held at our worldwide locations.

7 - Part Guided Breathwork Journey / Home Practice

In this online, home-practice course, BBTRS® founder Giten Tonkov guides you on a personal journey with the Biodynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System. You can access and experience the 7 guided sessions of 30 to 45 minutes each in two ways: Do the program once, with access for 7 days only (maximum of 5.25 hours); or do it three times in a row (15.75 hours over 21 consecutive days), and retain lifetime access to the online program.

21 - Day Meditation Challenge

Students are required to complete a 21-day meditation challenge using meditation(s) of their own choice. Benefits of this practice include developing inner space, an inner witness—which is extremely important in embracing the process of supporting other people. Meditation allows us to track felt sensations, look at the self objectively, and be present to our own experiences in non-judgmental awareness. The ability to grow the ability to be present for others is an extremely important skill for all professionals in the helping and healing arts.

The BioDynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System® 6-Element approach empowers your body’s natural process for healing.
